How to transfer a Jio eSIM from one device to another?

Steps to transfer Jio SIM/eSIM from an existing iPhone to a new one.

• Step 1: Ensure passcodes are enabled on both iPhones and the Jio number is active with your Email ID registered. Connect your new iPhone to Wi-Fi or a different mobile hotspot (not the one you are transferring). Place both iPhones near each other and connect them via Bluetooth.
• Step 2: On your new iPhone, go to 'Settings', tap 'Mobile Service', select 'Add eSIM' and choose 'Transfer from Nearby iPhone'. After that, confirm the transfer request on the existing iPhone.
• Step 3: Enter the verification code displayed on the new iPhone into the existing iPhone. After verification, install the eSIM profile by following the instructions on your new iPhone.

1. SMS service will be unavailable for up to 24 hours.
2. For iPad, you can follow the same steps by selecting ‘Other Options’ and then choosing ‘Transfer iPad Plan’.

• Step 1:Open the MyJio app. Go to the search field, type 'eSIM' and tap on 'Switch to eSIM'
• Step 2:Confirm your email address and enter the EID number of the device where you wish to activate the eSIM

Steps to transfer a Jio SIM/eSIM from existing Android phone to new eSIM-enabled Android phone.

• Step 1: Ensure a screen lock (PIN, pattern or password) is enabled on both Android phones and your Jio number is active with your Email ID registered. Keep both phones on the latest system update — your new phone should be on Android 14 or above. Connect the new phone to Wi-Fi, turn on Bluetooth on both phones, and place them next to each other.
• Step 2: On your new Android phone, go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Network & Internet’ > ‘SIMs’ (on Samsung: ‘Connections’ > ‘SIM Manager’), tap ‘Add eSIM’ and select ‘Transfer from another device’ (wording may vary by brand). Choose your Jio number from the list of eligible SIMs, then confirm the transfer request on your existing phone when prompted.
• Step 3: If a verification code appears on the new phone, enter it on your existing phone to authorise the transfer. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish installing the eSIM. The eSIM on your old phone is deactivated automatically once the transfer is successful.


Note:

2. Your existing plan and benefits are transferred to the new eSIM automatically — there is no need to buy a new plan.
3. If you are moving from a physical Jio SIM, keep it inserted until the eSIM is active to avoid any service interruption. Once the eSIM is active, the physical SIM is deactivated automatically and can be safely discarded (cut it diagonally before disposal).
4. If 'Transfer from another device' does not appear, install the latest system updates on both phones, or use the MyJio app method shown above.

Steps to switch a physical Jio SIM to eSIM on the same Android phone.

1. This option is available on the most recent Android phones. If you do not see it, install all available system updates, or switch to eSIM using the MyJio app method shown above.
